“Cobblepot Status” Music Video Out Now!
This one is different.
When I finished recording the song, I really wanted to create a music video for it. I wanted to incorporate my penguin action figures in the video, but I wasn't sure how we would do it. I didn't want to use stop motion because it's too time-consuming, and I wanted to keep it simple and doable (for me). Hahaha!
So I started thinking about how I could use symbolism. I used the small penguin toys to represent sadness. I tried to convey this by placing the sad penguin in the middle while all the other penguins on a pillar enjoyed themselves or were just being happy and normal.
Then we put together a scene with the penguin toppling Batman in front of the other major bosses. I also took Aunt May's head and put it on Shriek's body because I couldn’t get Aunt May's body to sit down due to her dress hindering her.
Then I dressed up as Penguin. The rest you can see. Shout out to the homie Tomaz (@saccentric) for just being like, "Sure, let's see what we can come up with." Big up to my wife who's was down to play the Penguin's Mom. Tomaz did his magic putting it all together.
The entire premise of the song is based on how the first season of the show ended. The Penguin rose to power and tried to give his mother everything he thought she wanted. While he did provide what she desired, the path he took to achieve that was not what she expected. During his journey to rise to the top, his mother became ill. The Penguin refuses to accept that his actions contributed to her sickness; nevertheless, he still managed to give her what she wanted, regardless of the consequences of his choices.
